What Is The Junior Academy?
NYAS Junior Academy connects ages 13-17 worldwide in 10-week online Innovation Challenges. Students use Launchpad to self-form international teams, research a real-world problem, apply design thinking and data analysis, test a solution, meet staged deadlines, and produce a final presentation. STEM experts may mentor teams, but mentor matching is not guaranteed.
Participation is free and requires strong English plus about three to four hours weekly. Fully participating students who submit every milestone on time receive a certificate and NYAS Young Membership. Fall 2026 applications closed July 9, with decisions due August 31. NYAS normally has another spring recruitment period from November to January, but exact upcoming dates are not yet published.
