What Is MIT PRIMES/AoPS CrowdMath?
CrowdMath is a joint initiative of MIT PRIMES and Art of Problem Solving: a massive online, collaborative mathematics research project open to high-school students around the world. It is not the selective MIT PRIMES or PRIMES-USA admissions program, so PRIMES residency rules, entrance problem sets, and annual application deadlines do not apply. Participants work asynchronously in an AoPS forum with research mentors and peers, developing conjectures, proofs, counterexamples, and written results. MIT says a new project launches every year, recent years have often included both spring and fall projects, and students may join at any time. Projects often lead to research papers; MIT's current paper index includes a CrowdMath-2026 paper posted July 24, 2026. AoPS lists CrowdMath among its free resources.
