What Is UC San Diego Research Scholars Program?
UC San Diego Research Scholars is a collection of subject-specific courses administered by the Division of Extended Studies. Courses may be in person, online or hybrid, and some take place outside San Diego. Eligibility, research activities, fees and deadlines depend on the course.
One current offering is BioImaging and 3 D Printing, a live online Winter 2027 course running January 9–February 27. Applications are due December 18, 2026 and tuition is 2700 dollars. Its bioengineering eligibility rules require current grades 9–12 and a minimum 3.0 GPA, with age 14 required for online enrollment. Other subjects have different conditions, such as Sports Medicine's incoming grades 11–12 and 3.3 GPA.
