What Is UCD High School Summer Program?
UCD's residential High School Summer Program introduces North American students age 16 or 17 to Irish history, culture, Dublin and undergraduate study abroad. The completed 2026 session ran July 8-23. Irish-history lectures were paired with field trips, while faculty-led workshops introduced UCD's colleges of Business, Science, Engineering & Architecture, Social Sciences & Law, and Arts & Humanities. Students also met degree-programme representatives and attended a North America-focused UCD application workshop.
Participants lived in private bedrooms within shared on-campus apartments and followed a supervised morning-to-evening schedule of workshops, cultural activities, excursions and group projects. The €3,450 programme fee included teaching, UCD housing, three meals daily, Dublin Airport transfers on programme dates, excursions and ground transport. It excluded airfare, personal spending and medical expenses. Comprehensive travel/medical insurance and a working phone in Ireland were required.
