What Is USA Mathematical Talent Search (USAMTS)?
USAMTS is a free individual proof-based contest for U.S. citizens or residents who have not completed high school; middle-school students may participate. Each round gives students time to solve a puzzle and four proof problems and receive written feedback. Round 1 of 2026–27 is due October 13, 2026: online submissions by 10 p.m. Eastern or mailed solutions postmarked that day. Students may join later rounds. Work must follow the independent-solution, citation and tool rules; prizes and AIME qualification depend on performance, not participation alone.
