What Is USA Junior Mathematical Olympiad?
The USA Junior Mathematical Olympiad is the MAA’s invitation-only national proof competition. Selected students solve six proof problems over two days and nine examination hours. Olympiad performance determines awards and possible further training; there is no direct student application.
USAJMO is invitation-only after qualifying scores; no separate student registration cutoff is published. The 2027 examination is March 20–21. The October 15 new-manager and October 28 returning-manager deadlines belong to upstream AMC host registration, not USAJMO entry. Invitations are expected after AIME scoring in late February. Current policy permits eligible invited grade 12-or-below students at authorized US or Canadian secondary schools, with routing determined by the qualifying AMC or USAMTS pathway; it does not impose a citizenship requirement.
