What Is Carnegie Mellon CS Scholars?
CS Scholars introduces eligible current 10th graders to Python, computational mathematics, research, industry and college pathways through four residential weeks at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh. Classes, group projects, mentoring, writing support and a capstone presentation build introductory computer-science skills. Prior coding is not required.
For 2027, students must be at least 16 by June 26, be between their 10th and 11th grade years during the summer, and be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. The programme runs June 26-July 24. Complete applications and recommendations are due February 1, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. EST; the programme-specific and detailed fully-funded timeline governs over a conflicting general March 1 card. The mailing list announces applications in December 2026, without an exact day; joining it is not applying to the programme.
