# Student Introduction to Engineering (SITE) SITE is the University of Alabama College of Engineering's residential summer introduction to the engineering disciplines, hosted on the Tuscaloosa campus. Students live in UA residence hall suites for a week while rotating through engineering departments, labs, and industry visits; the 2026 session ran June 22-27. The program has introduced high schoolers to Alabama's engineering programs for decades and doubles as an early look at UA scholarship and admissions pathways. ## What You'll Do - Live in a University of Alabama residence hall with fellow engineering-minded students - Collaborate with peers on a team-based engineering project throughout the week - Tour regional industry sites and talk with practicing engineers and industry leaders - Build skills through hands-on lab work and classroom instruction across UA's engineering majors - Compete in a closing design competition emphasizing creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork ## Who Should Apply Rising sophomore, junior, and senior high school students (and incoming college freshmen) interested in science, math, engineering, and computer science. The program fee is $750, covering housing, meals, and activities.
